The Sarah Jane Legacy CIC is a lived-experience–led organisation dedicated to transforming the understanding of domestic abuse, trauma, and systemic failure in the UK. Founded in honour of Sarah Jane—a daughter, mother, sister, and fiercely creative soul—our mission exists because she was failed at every level: by long-term domestic abuse, by the refuge system, and by the gaps in safeguarding that should have protected her.
Sarah didn’t die because she was weak. She took her life because the systems meant to save her did not. Her story reveals the harsh reality faced by many women across the country and underscores why meaningful change cannot wait.
The Sarah Jane Legacy CIC stands to ensure that no woman or child is ever abandoned in the same way. Our work is trauma-informed, survivor-led, and deeply rooted in lived experience, providing a voice that is raw, relevant, and urgently needed. We emphasize survivor empowerment through our initiatives and support.
We are available for:
- Interviews and features
- Expert commentary on domestic abuse, trauma responses, systemic failures, and lived-experience leadership
- Discussions on sibling grief, multi-generational impact, and the hidden stories behind domestic abuse statistics
- Insight into trauma-informed support, holistic healing, and survivor empowerment
- Coverage of our programmes, collaborations, and the future Sarah Jane Centres

Our voice is warm, direct, and unapologetically truthful. We illuminate the gaps survivors fall through, the realities behind the headlines, and the reforms needed to protect women and families across the UK.
For press and media enquiries, interviews, or speaking engagements, please contact us directly. We welcome opportunities to honour Sarah, amplify survivor voices, and advocate for the change she, and so many others, deserved.
